Our Head Dog Trainer: Lori Holmberg
Lori Holmberg is the head trainer at Aurora Family Dog Training. Lori received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Always an animal lover, Lori participated in several behavioral studies while working on her degree. Additionally, Lori worked as a pet sitter throughout her college years.
Lori later received her Master of Arts degree in Psychobiology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her thesis was on the adaptation of 2 monkey species to the Henry Doorly Zoo’s indoor jungle environment. Additionally, she assisted the veterinary team and the resident reproductive physiologist in training three male gorillas. Lori’s support of the project and the efforts of the team as a whole eventually resulted in the first test tube gorilla baby!
Despite the joys of working with primates, Lori’s heart always brought her back to training dogs and cats. Lori’s goal is always to build better bonds and keep the family pet with its family.
In addition to degrees, Lori is proud to hold the following certifications, accreditations, and memberships:
